We offer CPR training courses, including the RECOVER Rescuer Certification®, specifically designed for veterinary professionals.

In-house CPR – Refresher Session

We come to you for this training!

This training session will refresh the team’s knowledge of veterinary CPR, enabling them to deliver high-quality compressions and ventilations to patients should the worst happen. The team will follow the most up-to-date guidelines published by the RECOVER Initiative, the first evidence-based veterinary cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) guidelines. The first half of the session covers the theoretical part of basic life support, after which there will be lots of opportunity for practice on the mannequins.
The training sessions typically last 2-3 hours, and all necessary training materials, including mannequins, ET tubes, ambu-bags and scenario checklists, will be provided on the day.
To ensure the best learning experience, it is recommended that no more than six team members attend each session. For larger teams, consider booking two consecutive sessions on the same day or scheduling an additional session on a different day.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Use the RECOVER Initial Assessment Algorithm, to rapidly determine if an unresponsive patient is in cardiopulmonary arrest.

  • Demonstrate correct technique for chest compressions in dogs and cats of various sizes and chest conformations to maximise blood flow during CPR.

  • Explain the approaches to ventilation during CPR in dogs and cats and the pros and cons of each.

Group sizes of 3-6 recommended

Sessions are available across the UK, with pricing tailored to each location. Get in touch for a personalised quote based on where your practice is located.

N.B This is a standalone CPR training session and is not part of the RECOVER training and assessment programme.

Become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer

The in-person RECOVER Certification workshop in BLS and ALS is a hands-on workshop composed of a review of key concepts and practical training using simulated scenarios of performing BLS and ALS. The training is approximately 7-8 hours long with practical assessments the participants must pass to obtain certification as a RECOVER Certified BLS and ALS Rescuer®.

Learning Objectives

  • Rapidly recognise patients with cardiopulmonary arrest
  • Properly administer high-quality chest compressions using the most up-to-date approaches in dogs and cats
  • Provide mask or intubated ventilation according to current evidence-based guidelines
  • Utilise effective communication and team skills that will improve your ability to manage emergent and critically ill patients
  • Choose the most useful monitoring devices for patients in cardiopulmonary arrest and interpret data from them
  • Rapidly diagnose the arrest ECG rhythm to determine the best ALS therapies for the patient
  • Administer the most effective drugs and other adjunctive therapies for patients with cardiopulmonary arrest
  • Candidates should allow themselves 6 – 8 weeks to complete the online portion of the course. This must be completed before the conference workshop.

COST: £300 per person and includes certification and registration on to the RECOVER Rescuer database.

Train the Trainer | CPR Trainer Training

If you are looking to train your team members in CPR, this is the perfect course for you.

No prior teaching experience is necessary, as this course will equip you with all the skills needed to conduct an engaging and effective CPR session.

We understand that starting team training can feel overwhelming at times. This course focuses on building your confidence and ensuring you feel comfortable leading the training.

The 1-2-1 training session typically lasts four – six hours. The first half focuses on teaching how to deliver sessions effectively, while the second half supports the trainer as they lead their team’s first CPR training. To ensure this works effectively, it is recommended that at least two members of your team are available to act as ‘students’ during this coaching session.

All necessary training materials will be provided on the day, including mannequins, ET tubes, and scenario checklists.

Although it is not a prerequisite for the course, it is highly recommended that participants complete their Recover BLS and ALS online training before registering for this training.

COST £450 per session

N.B This is a standalone CPR training session and is not part of the RECOVER training and assessment programme.

‘1:1 CPR for your Practice’ Remote Consultation

A tailored, one-to-one video consultation designed to help you make CPR work properly within YOUR practice.

The RECOVER algorithm is an incredibly useful tool to have in practice, but for many teams it can feel like a complex flowchart rather than something practical to use in an emergency. Without guided support, it is easy for it to remain a “nice picture on the wall” rather than a tool your team can confidently use in real situations.
During the consultation, we work through it together step by step, breaking the algorithm down into something clear, practical, and relevant to your practice.
This is not a lecture. It is a focused, two-way discussion where we look at:
How CPR should actually run in your practice
Building or refining your CPR SOPs
Structuring effective team training
Identifying gaps in confidence or knowledge
Equipment needs and what is genuinely worth investing in.
Everything is tailored specifically to your team, your setup, and the situations you are likely to face.

You will leave with greater confidence, a clear understanding of how the algorithm works in your setting, and a pratice CPR approach that is practical, not just theoretical.
